Today I get a phone call from Chelsey's principal. She tells me that she had to call Chelsey down to her office to talk. What for do you ask?
Gossiping, rumor spreading....real mean girl stuff.....She tells me that Chelsey was only involved minimally, and she wasn't spreading the rumor....great, what does that mean??
She really wouldn't tell me anymore than that except for Chelsey was trying to help the persons the rumor was about.
So, now I had to wait until she got home to find out what really happened.....she walks in the door and I ask her how school was..."it was fine"
Oh really....wanna tell me about your trip to the Principal's office?
"she called you, didn't she?"
You got it...tell me what really happened
"Well, someone told this girl that someone else heard this thing about these 2 people and since I am on student council, I thought I should try and stop it, so 3 of us went to the guidance counsellor to see what we should do."
Now, I am proud of her that she wanted to help her friends, and that she went to an adult to try and rectify the situation. I'm kinda mad that she got sucked into the drama and ended up going to the principal's office for something that she really shouldn't have been reprimanded for. She wasn't spreading any rumors...she was just trying to help out a friend and didn't know what to do, so she went to an adult. End of drama.....
But I asked her what the rumor was.....and it was a doozy....needless to say, I was kinda horrified. 6th grade is way too young for this kind of stuff. I told her next time to just try and stay out of it.
Mean girls suck!
